Southee to join Middlesex
Middlesex have signed New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee as their second overseas player for the NatWest T20 Blast this season.
Southee is set to join up with his Middlesex team-mates in July after finishing playing for the Mumbai Indians at the IPL and will return to the county after previously turning out for them in the Friends Life t20 in 2011.
Southee said: "I'm excited to be joining Middlesex this year for the NatWest T20 blast and helping the club throughout the T20 competition.
"When the opportunity come up to play for Middlesex it wasn't a tough decision to make and I'm looking forward to calling Lord's home while I'm there."
Angus Fraser, Middlesex's managing director of cricket, believes the county will acquire a top talent when he arrives later in the summer.
"Tim is one of the leading fast bowlers in the world. He has plenty of experience in T20 cricket and looks to bowl in the periods where we feel we could be better," he said.
"We look forward to welcoming him to Lord's."
Southee will team up with former Black Caps team-mates, captain Brendon McCullum and coach Daniel Vettori, at Middlesex.
