Horner impressed with Ricciardo skills

14th November 2017, 16:20 by Neil Foster

Christian Horner believes Daniel Ricciardo is right up there with the best overtakers in F1 after his Brazilian Grand Prix display.

Ricciardo was forced to start down in 14th spot at Interlagos after a grid penalty and things got even worse as he spun at the Senna S bend after a collision with McLaren's Stoffel Vandoorne and Haas' Kevin Magnussen.

The Red Bull man was forced to pit early and then had to weave his way through the field to get back among the points, eventually finishing sixth.

The 28-year-old put on a sublime display of late braking around the circuit to pick off his rivals one by one and team principal Horner was impressed.

"Danny Ric again, some great passing moves by him again," he told Sky Sports. "He came past us on the pit wall and you thought 'he should get close into Turn 1', and then he's past!

"He brakes so late, so deep. He's really mastered that now. That's why for me he's one of the best overtakers out there, if not the best."
