La Liga official sure of new Messi Barca deal

14th November 2017, 15:41 by Neil Foster

Lionel Messi has already signed a new deal with Barcelona, according to La Liga president Javier Tebas.

Barca offered the Argentina superstar a new four-year contract at the Nou Camp during the summer but it was thought that he had yet to ink the deal.

The record-breaking forward's contract runs out at the end of the current season and so the Catalans are desperate to see him sign on the dotted line or risk losing arguably the greatest player in the world for nothing.

However, according to Tebas, there is no problem as he has already put pen to paper.

"Messi has a contract which has been renewed," he said on Tuesday. "Contracts are official when they are signed and not when it is announced that they have been signed.

"Messi has signed with Barcelona, if I have not been lied to, he has signed."
