Faugheen set for comeback
Owner Rich Ricci has confirmed that Faugheen is on course to make his comeback in the Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown on Sunday.
Faugheen was last seen in competitive action when galloping to victory in the Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown in January 2016.
The nine-year-old has been sidelined for 22 months after suffering a stress fracture, which forced him to miss the Cheltenham Festival among other big name events.
Owner Ricci confirmed that his charge is not far away from a return and hopes to have Faugheen back on the track next weekend.
Ricci said: "The plan is to run next Sunday.
"Everything's gone to plan. We kept him in longer than the other horses so he wouldn't gain too much weight.
"That was a good idea and he's had plenty of time. I'm very excited to see him back, by all accounts he's done well."
