Eagles starlet lands Netherlands call
Crystal Palace's loan star Timothy Fosu-Mensah has been selected for the Netherlands squad to face Scotland and Romania.
The 19-year-old, who is on a season-long loan at Selhurst Park from Manchester United, was initially part of his nation's Under-21 squad but has been propelled into the senior set-up because of an injury to Lyon defender Kenny Tete.
The former Ajax youth team player made his Oranje debut in their 4-0 defeat to France back in August and will hope to add to his caps in the upcoming friendlies.
Netherlands boss Dick Advocaat has already begun a rebuilding job after the Dutch failed to qualify for the second major tournament in a row by finishing third in their World Cup 2018 qualification group.
He will oversee a trip to Scotland on Thursday, before travelling to Bucharest for a game against Romania five days later and it seems as though youth will be given a chance by the former Rangers tactician.
Fosu-Mensah has enjoyed nine Premier League appearances this term, making seven starts, and has clearly caught the eye of the Holland boss despite Palace's woes.
