Akauola settling in at Warrington
Sitaleki Akauola says he is already feeling at home after leaving the NRL for Warrington Wolves.
Akauola is looking forward to a new challenge in the Super League after departing Penrith Panthers.
“There’s a good vibe, the boys and everyone have been welcoming,” he told the Warrington Guardian.
He added: "For me, it’s an experience and I wanted to come over and experience Super League.
“Pricey [new head coach Steve Price] has been really good to me and has taken me under his wing and looked after me really well, as have others including Dec [Patton].”
Akauola can play on the wing, in the halves, in the centres and in the back row but was used predominantly in the front row last season by Penrith.
The 25-year-old is expected to operate in the front row for the Wire in 2018 following Ashton Sims' switch to Toronto Wolfpack at the end of the previous campaign but Akauola says he is happy to play anywhere he is required.
He said: “For me, I prefer to be in the middle but whatever the team wants, wherever the coach wants me, I’ll do anything to put the team forward."
