Rovers stars get more time

14th November 2017, 12:16 by Nick Harris

Hull KR will give their injured players as long as they need to recover, according to assistant coach James Webster.

KR, like the rest of the Super League clubs, have returned to pre-season training this week ahead of the new Betfred Super League season next year but they have given a handful of injured stars longer to recover before they come back.

Captain Shaun Lunt, centre Andrew Heffernan, prop Josh Johnson and youngster Joe Wardill are all still undergoing rehabilitation from shoulder problems while

Nick Scruton went under the knife on a wrist and shoulder injury.

All five have returned for pre-season but will not take part in full training until they feel up to it.

Assistant coach James Webster told the Hull Daily Mail: "All of those players are undergoing their own rehabilitation programme and are well on with those.

"We’ll take it easy with them. They have a clear programme which they’re sticking to and we have time on our hands to get them right."
