Saints move further into top-four hunt
St Helens boosted their hopes of catching the top four with a 46-28 win over the Catalans Dragons.
Mark Percival kicked nine goals and also scored a try as the Saints crossed the whitewash seven times, asserting their dominance after going behind no less than three times in the opening 40.
However, a third win in four games saw Justin Holbrook's men move within three points of fifth-placed Wakefield, while the Dragons have now lost five of their last six.
Next up is a trip down the M62 to face Chris Chester's Trinity and the Australian admitted afterwards Sunday's match that he was pleased to see his troops take their chances on what could prove to be a vital afternoon for them.
"This was a real danger game for us after our win over Hull last week," he said. "We were never going to get gifted the points today – we had to go and earn them. They pushed and pushed us so I was pleased to get the win.
"It will be a tough game at Wakefield next week. It was a really important for us to win today. It can be hard when people expect you to win so I am happy with how we finished the game off."
