Simpson commits to Giants
Huddersfield Giants utility man Jared Simpson has signed a one-year extension with the Super League club.
Simpson made his senior debut with the Giants in 2015 and provided plenty of excitement for the future until his progress was halted by a string of injuries.
The 21-year-old was recently sidelined by an MCL knee injury sustained in pre-season but he now has reason to feel positive after securing a new deal.
Simpson said: "I'm over the moon and very grateful to Rick Stone for the opportunity. He has stuck by me and saw how hard I worked in the off season and it was really frustrating that I injured my medial knee ligament in the pre-season trial against Bradford.
The utility back has now fully recovered and hopes he can force his way back into contention with the Super League outfit.
He added: "I'm fit now and raring to go and the medical department especially Ollie Waite have been a massive help in getting me back ahead of schedule.
"I'm going to train hard and hopefully now I'm back for good.”
