Stone plays down Cudjoe chances

20th April 2017, 16:32 by Tom Hill

Huddersfield Giants boss Rick Stone has revealed captain Leroy Cudjoe will miss England's mid-season international with Samoa.

The Giants star has missed the club's last three matches as he continues to battle a knee injury.

His absence was felt when the club lost 26-24 to Warrington Wolves on Easter Monday but he is still struggling on the sidelines.

Cudjoe had been hoping to feature for Wayne Bennett's England side and he was named in the 30-man elite training squad.

However, he is now due to have further scans on Friday as the club look to find a solution for his injury and Stone believes he will miss the May 6 Test.

He told reporters: "I think Leroy would be unlikely for that game. He hasn't played for a few weeks now and he's still not great. He's having another scan tomorrow and seeing the consultant because it's not been responding to the usual treatment."
