Roberts drafted in by Wales

13th November 2017, 15:19 by Bobbie Jackson

Centre Jamie Roberts has been drafted into the Wales squad as they gear up to face Georgia in Cardiff on Saturday.

The 31-year-old was overlooked by Warren Gatland when he selected his squad for the meeting with Australia, which kicked off their autumn internationals campaign.

However, Gatland has now brought Roberts in as cover due to concerns over the fitness of Jonathan Davies, who injured his ankle in the defeat to the Aussies.

Roberts is certainly not short on experience and boats 93 caps, while he captained Wales to victories over Tonga and Samoa on the 2017 summer tour.

Meanwhile, prop Scott Andrews has also been called up in the build up to Saturday’s encounter at the Principality Stadium.
