Joyce to coach Konta
American Michael Joyce will replace Wim Fissette as the coach of British number one Johanna Konta.
Belgian Fissette was in Konta's corner this year as she reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon and claimed the prestigious Miami Open title en route to number four in the world rankings.
A failure to qualify for the season-ending WTA Finals saw the Australian-born ace part company with Fissette and, after shutting her season down due to injury, she took her time to find a replacement.
However, the Eastbourne resident has opted for the man who reached a career high of 64th in the world during his playing days and spent six years as part of Maria Sharapova’s coaching set-up.
He worked with Victoria Azarenka earlier this year and Konta is looking to take her game to a higher level with the new man on board.
"Michael is a fantastic coach with a great pedigree," she said. "I feel like there is so much more to come."
