Tiley confident Serena will play in Melbourne
Melbourne Open tournament director Craig Tiley believes Serena Williams will make her return to action in the Australian Open.
The American won the 2017 Australian Open earlier this year and she managed to do so while pregnant.
She beat her sister Venus in the final before taking a break from the game and the 36-year-old gave birth to a baby girl in September.
Williams also got married this year and doubts have been raised about her future in the game but she will reportedly defend her title.
Tiley insists her return is "very likely" with just over a month go go until the start of the tournament.
"She's got her visa, she's entered, she's practising and she's probably just got to find a bit more space for a bigger entourage," he told Melbourne's Herald Sun.
"There's no question that she'll be ready in our view and she wants to break a record that is Margaret Court's. It would be a pretty significant accomplishment for her to be able to do that."
Tom Hill offers a strong insight into football and rugby league, whilst also having a good knowledge of several other sports including boxing, horse racing and American Football.
