AJ desperate to rediscover passion
Anthony Joshua says he needs to rediscover his passion for boxing as he looks towards his rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr.
Ruiz shocked the world by beating the British heavyweight on June 1 to win the WBA, IBF and WBO world titles.
The result marked AJ's first defeat in 23 professional fights and prompted questions regarding his boxing intelligence after failing to alter his tactics to counteract Ruiz's style.
A rematch is now being negotiated and, having lost at Madison Square Garden, the 29-year-old's camp are thought to be keen on hosting the return bout in the UK, with Cardiff's Principality Stadium the preferred venue.
Joshua says he needs to learn from his nightmare in New York City and, with a rematch later this year on the cards, wants to rediscover the enthusiasm that made him fall in love with boxing.
"I feel strong enough and I feel I can correct my wrongs," Joshua told Sky Sports.
"I need to be around as many boxing people as possible because right now I need to soak in the experience and knowledge - and get that passion back."
He added: "Walking out in Cardiff in front of 70, 80, 90,000 people screaming and rooting for you to win, that type of energy that goes through your body is unstoppable, and I think that could give me the little bit of edge I need to win those belts."
