LA showdown lined up for Saunders

31st August 2019, 15:49 by Aidan Perkins

Billy Joe Saunders is reportedly poised to return to the ring in November, with a bout in Los Angeles being lined up.

The Briton has recently agreed a multi-fight deal with Matchroom Boxing and is set to appear at the Staples Center in the US on November 9, according to the Independent, in his first fight under the watchful eye of Eddie Hearn.

Saunders, who won the WBO super middleweight title when he saw off Shefat Isufi on points in May, recently spoke of how he can't wait to be "involved in those big nights that I've seen Matchroom put on over the years", before revealing he wants to be back in the ring "at the end of October or early November".

However, the occasion for Saunders' next fight appears to be a surprise choice as he's reportedly set to appear on the undercard of a rematch between two hugely-popular YouTube stars.

It is being claimed he will fight on the undercard of the rematch between KSI and Logan Paul, who fought for the first time in Manchester last year, when their bout controversially ended in a draw.

Saunders' inclusion on the bill has yet to be confirmed and the identity of his opponent remains undecided as he aims to extend his impressive 28-fight unbeaten professional record.
