Ruiz: Joshua quit last fight
Andy Ruiz Jr believes Anthony Joshua quit their last fight, after a seventh-round stoppage handed the underdog victory
The Mexican fighter has heaped fresh accusations on the former world heavyweight champion, suggesting the Londoner pulled out of their first bout at New York's Madison Square Gardens.
"I feel he quit because of the way that it was won," remarked the 30-year-old. "I think he was still out of it, I didn't think he knew where he was at at that moment."
Ruiz delivered his damning assessment in person, as the two sat across the table from one another in a scheduled face-to-face interview.
The Briton hit the canvas three times in a shock defeat; the fight was waved off midway through the seventh round. And when the two face off again in Saudi Arabia on December 7 in the 'Clash of the Dunes', many feel defeat for Joshua would signal the end of a promising career and Ruiz is well aware of this.
"It's either me or him inside the ring", said six-foot tall American-born Ruiz.
