Bayern check out Benfica and Dinamo talents

15th March 2019, 15:16 by Simon Barlow

Bayern Munich were present as several Bundesliga clubs scouted Benfica's 3-0 Europa League win over Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday.

The Rekordmeister are on the lookout for fresh talent as Niko Kovac looks to drastically reduce the average age of his squad following this week's Champions League exit at the hands of Liverpool.

Bayern, who also had a scout in attendance at the first leg in Zagreb last week, were joined in the posh seats at the Estadio da Luz by representatives of scouts from Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Borussia Monchengladbach, Eintracht Frankfurt, Barcelona and 11 English Premier League clubs.

Kovac could have ordered another report on Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo, who has been a revelation in Croatia over the last 18 months or Bayern could be watching another target from Benfica.

The Bundesliga giants signed Renato Sanches from the Lisbon club a few years ago and the next huge talent to roll off the Benfica production line is likely to be 19-year-old forward Joao Felix.
