Bayern enter race for World Cup winner
Reports suggest Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovac has made Chelsea midfielder a top target ahead of the summer window.
The World Cup winner has grown frustrated at Stamford Bridge this season after being edged out of his usual holding midfield role by Jorginho.
Kante has remained a regular in the starting XI but Maurizio Sarri has deployed the midfielder in a wider position.
Reports claim that some of Europe's elite have been monitoring his situation, with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain credited with an interest.
Bayern are the latest club to be linked after Kovac revealed his admiration for the player and claimed they are lacking someone of his ability to patrol the middle third.
Kovac said: "Today, to succeed – and I will take France as an example – you need a player like N'Golo Kante
"He does the housework wherever he goes. Real Madrid also has this kind of player. Bayern Munich had these kind of players.
"Today, we do not have a player like him. Those who are here must do this work. This means that defending is the task of every player."
