BVB keen on French ace

28th December 2018, 06:34 by Michael Holland

Borussia Dortmund have launched a bid to try and sign Lucas Da Cunha from French outfit Rennes, reports have claimed.

With Ousmane Dembele, Raphael Guerreiro, Dan Axel Zagadou all previously arriving to the club from Ligue 1 outfits, Bundesliga giants Dortmund appear to be looking to tap up the French top flight once again.

The 17-year-old playmaker Da Cunha is thought to be an exciting prospect and reports have suggested BVB have offered the youngster a five-year contract in Germany.

Da Cunha is yet to make a first-team appearance at Rennes but his performances in the academy have caught the eye and the club will have to consider a four million euros bid.

Rennes will be keen to rebuff the interest, but may struggle to turn down that kind of money for a player of his age.
