Pulisic's Chelsea move 'confirmed' by Johnson

31st December 2018, 15:15 by Neil Foster

Ex-USA striker Eddie Johnson appears to have confirmed that Christian Pulisic will join Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in January.

The Blues have long been linked with a move for the 20-year-old American and the latest reports claim they have beaten off the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal to his signature.

With the transfer window set to open on New Year's Day, the rumour mill is in overdrive but news that Pulisic is poised to sign on the dotted line and join Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge has come from an unlikely source.

Former Fulham, Cardiff City and Preston North End hitman Johnson has taken to Instagram to wish his compatriot well at Stamford Bridge.

With a mocked-up image of Pulisic wearing a half-and-half Dortmund-Chelsea shirt, he posted: 'so stoked for you lil bro great move can't wait to watch you alongside Eden Hazard'.
