Weigl keen to leave but Dortmund dig heels in
Michael Zorc will not sanction an exit for Borussia Dortmund's Julian Weigl in the January transfer window, according to reports.
Weigl has played only a minor role for Lucian Favre over the first half of the season, featuring in 241 minutes of Bundesliga football across four appearances and three starts.
The Germany international did play the full 90 minutes as BVB beat Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1 on Friday but it seems as though he is unhappy with a place on the Dortmund bench.
The 23-year-old is behind Axel Witsel, Thomas Delaney and Mahmoud Dahoud in the pecking order and he now wants a January exit, according to a report from Bild.
However, Kicker are claiming that sporting director Zorc has no intention of letting him leave in the new year, saying: "We do not want to hand over a player we need to achieve our goals. We need four men for the two six-position positions."
