Smith returns to training for City

16th April 2019, 18:04 by Aidan Perkins

Bristol City expect to have Korey Smith back in action again on Friday after he returned to training this week.

Smith has had an injury-hit campaign and has made just four Championship appearances for the Robins so far.

His latest setback came in the second half of the 1-0 win over Middlesbrough on April 2, but he's made good progress from the leg injury and is now back in training and should be available for the Good Friday clash against Reading.

Assistant head coach Dean Holden said: "Korey has trained well today."

Holden has also provided a positive update on winger Callum O'Dowda, who has not featured since March 12 due to a knee injury. He has now made a return to light training and is expected to be back fit within a fortnight.

"O'Dowda is back on the grass now and out of the treatment room and is pushing for a recall pretty soon," he added.
