Burnley going cold on Bowen as own star emerges
Burnley are still scouting Jarrod Bowen but the emergence of Dwight McNeil could end their interest in the Hull City star.
The Clarets sent a scout to Pride Park earlier this month to monitor Bowen, 22, in the Championship match against the Rams.
Burnley - one of the Premier League clubs that were linked to Bowen in January - have been tracking the player for a while and his profile would seem to fit the one manager Sean Dyche has found success with in the past.
But the growing influence of McNeil, who left Manchester United's academy at the age of 15 to join Burnley, on their right flank means Bowen may no longer be a target for them by the summer.
The 19-year-old assisted his fourth goal in 10 Premier League appearances when he set up Chris Wood for Burnley's opener against Tottenham on Saturday.
He also has one goal from his 769 minutes, leads Burnley in dribbles and key passes per 90 minutes, and is being tipped to receive his first full call-up to England's Under-20 squad in March.
