Hearts striker could be the man for Adkins
Hull City are plotting a summer swoop for Hearts hitman Uche Ikpeazu, according to reports in Scotland.
The Scottish Sun claim the Tigers will try to lure Ikpeazu back down south - where he once came through the youth ranks at Reading during Nigel Adkins' spell in charge there.
The Royals did not want him to leave but he opted to join Watford when his contract expired but he has really flourished since dropping down the leagues with Cambridge United.
His goal record in Edinburgh is not that impressive but Ikpeazu is known for his physical play and his ability to hold the ball up.
With Fraizer Campbell and Will Keane out of contract at the end of the season, and Chris Martin set to return to his parent club Derby County, Hull are in need of reinforcements up front.
But Adkins will face competition for Ikpeazu, who has scored six goals this season in all competitions, from Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers as well as Premier League outfit Cardiff City.
Hearts signed him on a free transfer last June and would reportedly be looking to get £1million this summer.
