Villa target to play in Leeds' friendly
Kalvin Phillips is expected to play in Leeds' friendly at Guiseley on Thursday night as talks over a new deal at Elland Road drag on.
The Whites midfielder, the subject of reported interest from Aston Villa, is demanding a handsome pay rise from Leeds this summer.
Villa are keen to upgrade their options in central midfield ahead of the start of the new Premier League season and have already splashed out around £75m on new recruits.
Leeds want to keep Phillips, who shone under Marcelo Bielsa last term, as they line up another Championship promotion bid.
The 23-year-old is in talks over a new contract at Elland Road but is understood to have rejected the club's opening offer because he wants a more lucrative deal.
He was not involved in the 22-man squad that faced York City in Leeds' first pre-season friendly on Wednesday but is expected to be involved against Guiseley at Nethermoor Park on Thursday.
