Jones calls for Hatters unity

17th September 2019, 17:19 by Alex Jack

Luton Town boss Graeme Jones has called for the club’s fans to back the team after learning many left early during their 3-2 defeat to Queens Park Rangers.

The Hatters found themselves 3-0 down against the R’s within 30 minutes, before goals from Harry Cornick and James Collins saw the visitors make a comeback at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium on Saturday.

Luton failed to find a equaliser but Jones was disappointed to learn some fans had made an early exit after a disastrous start to the Championship encounter.

“The fans, you know my feelings about them, but I thank them again for that as that is difficult,” he said.

“So many turned out here, but they’ve got to trust us.

“If they’d have stayed in the stadium, they would have seen a turnaround, unfortunately we couldn’t quite get that last goal, but we’re in this together.

“I keep saying that, it disappoints me when I hear people leave.”

Luton, who currently find themselves in 16th place in the Championship table after seven games, are back on home soil on Saturday as they prepare to welcome Hull City to Kenilworth Road.
