Adomah - We can compete

16th July 2019, 19:11 by Tom Hill

New Nottingham Forest midfielder Adam Adomah believes his team can achieve promotion to the Premier League this season.

The 31-year-old joined the club earlier this month after leaving Aston Villa following a three-year spell at Villa Park.

Adomah helped the Villans earn promotion last season, while he was also part of the Middlesbrough squad that earned promotion under Aitor Karanka.

He claims togetherness was key at both Boro and Villa and he is adamant Forest have a chance to compete this season.

"I think the secret to success; the secret to promotion is working together as a team," he told the Nottingham Post. "It is not about individuals.

"At both teams I have been at that won promotion, yes, you might have some talented players; the odd magician who can create something.

"But it is as a team, having the work rate and the desire to work together that is the key to it.

"Everyone has to turn up for every game and produce a 7/10 performance as a minimum.

"If you can do that and if you can produce the odd 8/10 performance on top of that, you are going to secure victories and success."
