James Hanson joins Bury until the end of the season

13th January 2018, 15:01 by

Bury have confirmed the loan signing of striker James Hanson from Sheffield United until the end of the season.

Hanson, 30, made his name at Bradford, making over 300 appearances and scoring 91 goals in all competitions in seven-and-a-half years at Valley Parade.

He has played just 15 times for the Blades since joining them in January 2017 and is relishing the chance for more game time.

"I'm looking forward to getting going and playing some games," Hanson told Bury's official website.

"I had a number of other offers but I was really excited by this challenge. Looking at the squad here there are so many good individual players and I'm looking forward to working with (manager) Chris Lucketti.

"I'm here to play some games and have a really good go and I can't wait to get going."
