Potter - no news on James contract
Swansea boss Graham Potter says there's "nothing to report" on Daniel James' contract renewal and any pressure is unfair.
Potter has sympathy for the 21-year-old, who was denied a big-money move to Leeds United in the January transfer window.
Since then Swansea have been making steady progress in negotiations with the Wales international as they look to tie the in-demand winger to a vastly improved contract.
James, who is contracted until the summer of 2020, is entitled to take his time over the decision and consult whoever he needs to - according to Potter.
"Again, nothing to report. He's in the same position," Potter said. "He has to think about himself, talk to his family, busy first season. I almost feel for him. He should just play his football.
"It's unfair on the player to keep putting him under the spotlight of a contract and then we'll see at the end of the season.
"There's constant contact but these things aren't so simple."
