Swans confirm Montero injury

14th September 2018, 13:17 by Tom Hill

Swansea City have announced midfielder Jefferson Montero has suffered a thigh injury and will miss up to six weeks of action.

The winger stayed with the Swans over the international break but he suffered the problem during training earlier this week.

Montero has featured in four of Swansea's six Championship games so far and he played a crucial role off the bench during the win against Millwall.

He produced a similar display in the win over Sheffield United on the opening day of the season but Graham Potter will now be forced to look at other options.

Swansea take on Nottingham Forest this weekend and Bersant Celina and Daniel James will be expected to retain their places in the starting XI.
