Arsenal man targeted by Baggies

12th January 2019, 12:58 by Aidan Perkins

Arsenal youngster Emile Smith-Rowe is being tipped for a loan move to West Brom as the Baggies look to replace Harvey Barnes.

Leicester City opted to activate a recall clause on Barnes this month and the midfielder has now returned to the King Power Stadium after an impressive first half of the campaign in the Championship.

Boss Darren Moore needs to replace the 21-year-old, who hit nine goals and managed eight assists in his time at the club, and is reportedly looking at Arsenal starlet Smith-Rowe.

The 18-year-old has not yet featured in the Premier League for the Gunners but has been involved in the Europa League this season and made his first-team debut in September against Vorskla Poltava.

It is thought Arsenal may be willing to let Smith-Rowe out on loan temporarily in order to get some first-team action and a switch to the Hawthorns could suit all parties.
