West Ham legend joins Baggies

2nd July 2019, 14:10 by Bobbie Jackson

Former West Ham defender Julian Dicks has agreed to link up with Slaven Bilic on the coaching staff at West Brom.

Bilic took charge of the Championship outfit last month and he is already making moves to put his stamp on both the playing and coaching personnel.

The pair were teammates at West Ham and also worked together during Bilic's stint in charge at the London Stadium.

Dicks has left his position as manager of Isthmian League club Heybridge Swifts to link up with the Croatian in second-tier.

"While we are disappointed to lose Julian after he did a superb job for our club last season, this opportunity is simply too good for him to miss," Swifts chairman Gary White said.

"It gives him a chance to work again in the Premier League, where he was previously with Slaven at West Ham for two seasons until November 2017."
