Archer gets clearance for England
Sussex star Jofra Archer is on course to make his debut for England next season and will be pushing for a World Cup place.
The Barbados-born star has an English father but was not eligible to play for England under the previous rules.
However, the ECB has now amended its regulations and Archer will be able to play for Joe Root’s team next summer.
A good athletic fielder who can score some useful late runs, Archer regular bowls at over 90mph and could well have a long career ahead of him in an England shirt.
Sussex say Archer is likely to qualify "at some point in March 2019" depending on the amount of time he spends out of the UK during the rest of 2018-19.
