Aussie all-rounder Marsh joins Middlesex for T20 Blast

21st February 2020, 12:35 by Tom McGarry

Middlesex have confirmed the signing of Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh ahead of this year's T20 Blast.

The 28-year-old will add plenty of experience as he has represented his country in 32 Tests, 53 one-dayers and 11 T20 games since making his international debut in 2011.

Marsh has also played for the Deccan Chargers, Pune Warriors and Rising Pune Supergiants in the Indian Premier League in the past, while he scored 382 runs at an average of 34.72 for Perth Scorchers during this year's edition of the Big Bash League in Australia.

He becomes Middlesex's second overseas signing for this year's T20 Blast, with Afghan spinner Mujeeb ur Rahman already re-signed following a successful spell in 2019.

Middlesex head coach Stuart Law is excited by the addition of Marsh at Lord's.

"Mitch is a hard-hitting batsman, steady medium-fast bowler and athletic in the field," Law told the club website. "The experience he's had in different T20 competitions around the world will be a real plus for our dressing room."

Marsh will be available for all of Middlesex's games during this season's group stage, which runs from May 28 to July 12.
