Aussies welcome back Starc and Smith
Usman Khawaja is out of the Australia squad for the fourth Ashes Test against England, but Mitchell Starc has been recalled.
With former captain Steve Smith back fit and available after missing the third Test, which England won in dramatic fashion, with concussion, Khawaja is the man to make way following a disappointing series so far.
Marnus Labuschagne, who stepped in for Smith, has impressed with three successive half centuries and keeps his place in the side. Khawaja had an average of just 20.33 from his six innings.
The Aussies have also recalled Starc, who can feel very hard done by that he has not featured in any of the opening three Tests after being the leading wicket taker at World Cup earlier in the summer.
With James Pattinson due to be rested at Old Trafford, Starc will compete with Peter Siddle for a place in the attack, but is expected to get the nod.
The five-match series is level at 1-1 and holders Australia need to win one of the final two Tests if they are to retain the Ashes.
