Bopara extends stay at Essex
Ravi Bopara has signed a new one-year deal to keep the former England man at Essex until the end of 2019.
The 33-year-old won the County Championship with Essex in 2017 and is their longest serving player, but his deal was coming to an end before he committed for a further season.
His last England appearance came back in 2015 and he has played 120 ODI matches, with 38 T20s and 13 Test matches along the way.
"I still have plenty of years left," Bopara said. "We had a good campaign in the County Championship last year but know we can do better.
"We have a good blend of youth and experience in the dressing room and the depth to challenge for the title, so that's our goal for next season."
