Fowler - I have a better chance in the wind
Rickie Fowler is confident he can move up the leaderboard on day two of the Sentry Tournament of Champions as the conditions worsen.
The weather forecast in Hawaii suggests players are going to have to battle with high winds when play resumes on day two.
Chile's Joaquin Niemann claimed the first-round lead with a score of seven-under-par, while Justin Thomas is breathing down his neck in second on six under.
Fowler and fellow American Matt Kuchar share third two shots off the lead, but 12-20 mph winds and up to 40 mph gusts are expected the rest of the way at Kapalua.
Last year's Waste Management Phoenix Open winner told Yahoo Sports: "These are probably the best conditions we're going to see all week.
"I love playing in the wind, but that being said, that doesn't mean I'm going to go play well out there. I have a better chance maybe than most of playing well and getting around, but it's still going to be tough. I'm looking forward to it. I'd like for it to not get blowing too hard. ... It would be nice to see it stay playable, just play tough and [let us] go out and have some fun in the wind."
