Hales on song in Arabians win

1st December 2018, 19:18 by Tom Hill

England star Alex Hales broke the T10 League record for the highest individual score during Maratha Arabians' win over Bengal Tigers.

The 29-year-old was in fine form for the Arabians as they won by seven wickets in the Eliminator final.

Hales fired 32 off one over when facing Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi and he was able to celebrate after guiding his team home.

He claims the record just a day after Yorkshire star Jonny Bairstow grabbed the honour himself.

Bairstow had set the benchmark with 84 not out off 24 balls for Kerala Knights on Friday, but Hales made 87 off 32 balls.

Before Bairstow's record, the previous highest T10 League score was 74 by Afghanistan wicket-keeper Mohammad Shahzad.
