Hamza keen to contribute at Sussex
Pakistan international Mir Hamza is hoping to help Sussex make a strong start to the season after agreeing a short-term deal.
The 26-year-old follows in the footsteps of countrymen Javed Miandad and Imran Khan by signing up with Sussex.
Hamza, who made his Test debut for Pakistan in the victory over Australia last October, has agreed a two-month contract.
The left-arm seamer will be available for eight County Championship matches and is also eligible to play in the tour match against Australia A at Arundel between Sunday, July 7 and Wednesday, July 10.
Hamza told Sussex’s official website: “I’m very excited to have the chance to play county cricket with a great club like Sussex, following in the footsteps of Pakistan legends like Javed Miandad and Imran Khan.
“I hope I can make a good contribution towards some victories. And on a personal level I am looking forward to working with – and learning from – Jason Gillespie.”
