Maturing Stokes ready for Aussies
England vice-captain Ben Stokes says he has matured as he gets set to do battle with Australia in the Ashes.
The talented Durham all-rounder has been reinstated as England's Test vice-captain having been stripped of the role in 2017 following an incident outside a Bristol nightclub.
Cleared of affray in August 2018, Stokes has got his career back on track and was a key figure in helping England win the World Cup on home soil this summer.
With the first Ashes Test starting on Thursday at Edgbaston, Stokes feels he has learned what to prioritise in recent months and claims he is a maturer person as he prepares for the upcoming clashes with the Aussies.
"I'm not a different person. I think maturing is the best way of saying it and having a understanding of a lot more things," said Stokes to BBC 5 Live. "Trying to please everyone every minute of every day was something I always tried to do.
"Just try and keep the people happy who are important to you and make an impact on the way your career can go."
