No play as third ODI washed out
The third one-day international between England and West Indies was washed out after persistent rain in Grenada.
With the series nicely poised at 1-1 following Windies’ victory last time out in Barbados, the scene was set for another pulsating display of white-ball cricket by two talented teams, but the fans went home disappointed.
Not a ball was bowled despite the fact that the toss took place, with England skipper Eoin Morgan calling correctly and inserting the hosts.
More rain prevented the players getting onto the field and the match was called off at 18:40 UK time.
The Three Lions had made two changes, with Ben Stokes missing out after rolling his ankle while Tom Curran was also left out.
The fourth ODI is scheduled to take place on Wednesday at the same venue and all concerned will hope that the weather is kinder next time around.
