Nortje ruled out of Indian Premier League
Anrich Nortje has been ruled out of the IPL season and replaced in the Kolkata Knight Riders' squad by Matt Kelly.
South African Nortje, who is expected to be part of his country's squad for the World Cup in May, is struggling with a shoulder injury and he will play no part for the Riders in the 2019 tournament.
Kolkata, who are sitting second in the IPL standings, have revealed Australian fast bowler Kelly has been drafted in as a replacement and he could be selected for Friday's clash against the Delhi Capitals at Eden Gardens.
The 24-year-old, who would be making his tournament debut against Delhi, has taken 54 wickets from 16 First Class appearances while he has 19 scalps from 12 T20 matches.
Kelly currently plays his domestic cricket for Western Australia, having made his debut for the club in 2017, while he has played for Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League since 2018.
James Mason grew up in Northumberland so is entrenched in both the football and golf scenes. A low handicap golfer, he also follows Newcastle United and predicts big things under Rafa Benitez.
