Perera back in Sri Lanka Test squad
Sri Lanka batsman Kusal Perera has been recalled to their Test squad for the tour to Australia, replacing Danushka Gunathilaka.
Perera, who holds an average of 28.56 runs in 13 Tests for his country, is likely to open the batting alongside Dimuth Karunaratne after Gunathilaka was dropped following his struggles with the bat in the recent two-match Test series in New Zealand, which Sri Lanka lost 1-0.
Perera played his way into contention with a century in the first game of the one-day series against the Kiwis and the left-hander will now be given another chance at Test level.
Angelo Mathews will not feature in the two-Test tour against Australia after suffering a hamstring injury.
The first Test starts on January 24 in Brisbane, with the second and final game taking place in Canberra from February 1.
