Root expecting runs from all over
England skipper Joe Root says it does not matter who gets the runs against the West Indies.
The opening partnership and the number three spot have been a constant thorn in the side of successive captains as they look for the right balance.
England's lower order has consistently scored more than the top order and they used three different players at number three in Sri Lanka but Root says it does not matter who scores the runs as long as someone does along the way.
"We are playing to our strengths," Root told BBC Sport.
"We have to manage expectations and understand that it might not be the top four who score the bulk of the runs.
"We have a very strong middle order and the wickets we have played on have generally been difficult at the start, putting pressure on the top order.
"As long as we are scoring enough runs to win games of cricket, that is the important thing."
