Rushworth excited for future after penning extension
Seamer Chris Rushworth insists he is excited for the future after signing a contract extension with Durham.
The 30-year-old made his first-class debut for Durham in 2010 against Yorkshire in the County Championship.
Rushworth has gone on to claim more than 600 wickets during his career in the north east, having taken 80 across all formats last season.
His exceptional ability with the ball has convinced Durham to hand out fresh terms, which will keep him at the Riverside until 2020, and Rushworth is keen to repay their faith by helping to shape the youngsters in the squad.
He told the club’s official website: “I’m delighted to have extended my contract and still have a huge amount of passion, drive and energy to take wickets for Durham and continue to improve.
“I’m excited for what is to come for the club. We’ve got a positive dressing room at the minute and hopefully I can use my experience to help some of the younger lads and get the club back into the top division.
“I’m pleased with the way that I performed last season and I’ll hopefully demonstrate the same skills in 2019.”
