Stokes scans not concerning - England selector
England national selector Ed Smith has played down fears over Ben Stokes' fitness head of the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
The all-rounder has missed the Rajasthan Royals' last two Indian Premier League matches and was set for scans on an injury after conceding 18 off the final over of their defeat to Chennai Super Kings last week.
Smith, England's chief selector, says the results were positive but admits that the Durham star's workload will need to be managed ahead of the World Cup.
"His latest scans didn't seem too concerning at all, however, he has had an injury niggle," Smith said.
"He's missed a bit of cricket but played plenty as well. He's a player who will want to arrive at the World Cup in the best condition."
