Stone lands new deal

11th January 2019, 13:40 by Nick Harris

Olly Stone has signed a contract extension at Warwickshire until the end of the 2022 season.

The highly-rated Stone could be away from the county a fair bit over the forthcoming years, as he is one of a select few who can regularly bowl at over 90 mph.

He will be part of England's Test squad for their three-match tour of West Indies, which begins this month in Barbados, and is hoping to feature in the World Cup and the Ashes series to follow next summer.

Meanwhile, he is happy to have got his new contract with Warwickshire signed: "I'm delighted to have signed a new deal.

"I love the club, it has so much history and I'm really excited about the future. The lads are great, I've settled in here really well and I can't wait for the upcoming season where hopefully we can continue our excellent performance from last year."
