Trio to remain suspended
The bans for Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft will remain in place and not be reduced, Cricket Australia have confirmed.
The Australian Cricketers Association had wanted the suspensions reduced after a report came out saying Cricket Australia were partly to blame for the atmosphere around the side which ultimately led to the trio being sanctioned for ball tampering.
Smith and Warner were suspended for 12 months and Bancroft for nine for ball-tampering in South Africa in March but all three had hoped their bans would be amended, only for the governing body to quickly quash any suggestion of the lengths of the suspensions being reduced.
CA interim chair Earl Eddings said that "it is not appropriate to make any changes to the sanctions".
A statement from the body added: "The ACA has done all it could in support of our submission, and now considers the matter closed."
