Worcestershire confirm new first-team coach
T20 Blast winners Worcestershire have appointed Alex Gidman as their new first-team coach.
Worcestershire, who went through a change in their backroom staff last winter, have once again opted for a reshuffle of coaching personnel.
Gidman has agreed to take over the task of running first-team affairs, replacing Kevin Sharp, who becomes head of player and coaches development.
The 37-year-old linked up with the county in March as Second XI coach and has done enough to earn a promotion with the first team.
Gidman told the club’s official website: “I’m extremely grateful the club see the potential in me as a first-team coach and have given me this opportunity. I am very excited and want to do my absolute best to ensure that decision is repaid with results.”
