Zampa takes wickets in T20 win
Two wickets from Adam Zampa saw Australia sneak past India by four runs in a thrilling rain-shortened T20 International on Wednesday.
India's adjusted target was 174 in 17 overs and the tourists had given themselves a chance of victory at the Gabba when they entered the final over with 13 needed.
But seamer Marcus Stoinis kept a cool head to concede eight while picking up two wickets.
The hosts had posted 158-4 in their 17 overs through a swashbuckling fourth-wicket stand of 78 between Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell.
Shikhar Dhawan's 42-ball knock of 76 kept India on pace, but they lost wickets at regular intervals to allow the required run rate to climb out of control.
Leg-spinner Zampa dismissed Lokesh Rahul and India captain Virat Kohli, who made four, in successive overs during the middle overs to derail India’s chase.
The two sides will meet again in the second match of the three-game T20 series in Melbourne on Friday.
